Call to Worship

Let’s worship God who loves us all; We who are young and we who are old; we who are healthy and we who are unwell;

Let’s worship God who calls us to love our neighbour: The one we understand and the one we don’t the one who seems like us and the one who is different.

Let’s worship the God who desires our love; Whether we are trusting or fearful,  confident or confused, eager or cautious.

Let’s worship God with heart, mind and voice and with the whole of our lives. We come to worship the God who welcomes us as we are and calls us to the fullness of our true selves.

With faith to face our challenges,

With love that casts out fear,

With hope to trust tomorrow,

We receive this day as the gift it is and we celebrate the richness and diversity of life in the presence of God.

Gathering Prayer

Gather us, O God, within the tapestry where hearts and minds are joined, united in diversity. Gather us into that silent still point of our turning worlds so we might know peace;  so we might open to newness; so our imaginations may be stirred beyond ourselves and filled with awe and wonder.

For you, gracious and gathering God, bring all into the folds of your loving presence. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

You are the God of new beginnings – All our possibilities of new life rest with you.

You love us, God, and you know us. You know how we hurt ourselves, how we hurt each other, how we hurt your world.

We are sorry, Great God. We long to change; to choose goodness and mercy freely, to live openly in the flow of Love.

Where our hearts, minds and hands are closed heal us and help us, we pray.

Listen to God’s words: You are my beloved. You are forgiven.

I call you to walk with me, and together I will guide and inspire you to act justly and to love kindly.

With Jesus our brother and friend as our guide and companion, we will follow in your Way of Love, Joy and Peace. Amen

Generous God, we thank you for the many gifts we receive from your bounty each day, and we ask your blessing on this offering made in gratitude, intended for justice and mercy.

May those who receive it do so in the dignity of shared humanity. May all our lives flourish through the flow of love so that we see you more readily in the faces of others. Amen.

Communion

This is the joyful feast of Jesus: bread for beloved children; a meal for those expecting scraps and a banquet for last-minute guests!

Come, your place is at the table. Here Christ meets you and calls you God’s own. Silence

No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome at this table with its symbols of God’s Creative Presence.
In company with all who seek nourishment at this table,
we come to celebrate community, and to share these life-giving symbols. 

The story…

The One whom the universe cannot contain is present to us in this bread.

The One who loves us and calls us by name now meets us in this cup.

So we will take this bread and this wine. In them God comes to us so that we may be with God.

Living God,

in gratitude, in deep gratitude for this moment, this meal, these people, we give ourselves to you.

Send us out to live as changed people because we have shared the Living Bread and cannot remain the same.

Ask much of us, expect much from us, enable much by us, encourage many through us.

So, God, may we live to your glory, both as inhabitants of earth and as citizens of the household of God, the kindom of heaven.

Prayer after communion

Loving God, We thank you for feeding us, body, mind, heart and soul. May we live each day in the unforced rhythms of your grace. Amen

Blessing

We are God’s servants gifted with dreams and visions.

The grace of God flows in us like a braided river, weaving all things together.

So then, let us love and serve God, each other and the world in the strength of the Spirit.

May the deep peace of Christ be with you,

The strong arms of God sustain you

And the fire of the Holy Spirit

Warm your heart and give you joy. Amen.
